Unit 5 - Audio Production
Task 1 - Soundscape Analysis
Task 2 - Soundscape Planning & Design
Task 3 - Soundscape Production
Task 4 - Evaluation
In conclusion, soundscape went really well and I believe I managed to follow my shot-list closely and incorporate elements that I have previously learned about into it. I had 2nd years to help me with some of the sounds which I'm so thankful for and they also gave me some tips about it which I now know. As for editing, it went okay but if I could change one thing I would organise the clips more before editing them as that was a main issue when trying to locate them.
A few things did go wrong when recording the soundscape:
- Didn't find the right materials,
- Clips wouldn't download.
When planning to create the soundscape, I had asked around about different materials that would be accessible for me to use and I did have a few although when it did come around to actually producing the project, most of the items had been taken. I tried to find substitutes which was difficult but doable, while some of the sounds I had made weren't exactly what I was going for - it still sounded good.
Another problem I ran into was that after I had finished recording, none of the clips would upload from my SD card onto my hard drive. This was a huge problem as without that working, I couldn't produce my soundscape. Luckily, my teacher's computer was working and I was able to get the clips, then get to work.
